The regular monthly meeting of the Town of Rantoul was called to order at 7:00pm at the Village Hall of Potter by Chairman Mertz. He verified that meeting notices were posted on February 1, 2012. Clerk Schwartz was absent.
Motion by Jannette, second by Eickert to approve the January 2012 meeting minutes as printed; motion carried by voice vote. Motion by Eickert, second by Jannette to accept the Treasurer’s report of Checking account balance of $3,313.64, Money Market account balance of $60,579.06 and Tax Collection Account of $468,559.08; motion carried by voice vote.
David Dhein, assessor, was present. He presented the land sales for 2011. 277 acres sold for $4,875 per acre.
Motion by Jannette, second by Eickert to adopt, per the Town of Rantoul Plan Commission’s recommendation, Resolution 2012-02 – Resolution Establishing Zoning and Building Permit Fees, with the $50 and $100 permit fees being distributed as follows:
$50 fee $15 – Zoning or Deputy Zoning Administrator
$15 – Clerk
$20 – Town
$100 fee $20 – Zoning or Deputy Zoning Administrator
$20 – Clerk

Zoning forms were reviewed. Per the advisement of the Town Plan Commission, motion by Eickert, second by Jannette to use the Calumet County Planning Department forms with changes to reflect the Town’s zoning ordinance; motion carried by voice vote.
Motion by Jannette, second by Eickert to approve the request from Mary Kohrell, Community Development Educator, for help in funding the 2012 Hazardous Waste Clean Sweep, including electronics collection, program with an estimated $152.50 payment for the Town of Rantoul; motion carried by voice vote.
The Town will continue with the present insurances and not request quotes from other companies.
The 2011 Year-End Audit of Books was completed. The ending balances, as reported by the clerk and treasurer, were as follows: Checking Account-$3,456.06; Money Market Account-$82,477.02; Tax Collection Account-$611,799.86. Motion by Jannette, second by Eickert to accept the above report; motion carried by voice vote. A summary year-end report follows.
The Memorandum of Understanding with the Village of Potter has been forwarded to the Village’s attorney.
The Wisconsin Towns Association district meetings will be held March 16th in DePere and March 24th in Manitowoc.
Mark Wunrow, Road Maintenance Supervisor, discussed purchasing culverts for Hilbert Road which he is able to obtain at a lower price. He was told to use his judgment as to the purchase of these culverts.
The next road maintenance meeting will be called as needed.
Bills totaling $310,069.53 were presented. Motion by Jannette, second by Eickert to approve the bills as presented; motion carried by voice vote. An itemized list follows.
