March 7, 2011

 The regular monthly meeting of the Town of Rantoul was called to order at 7:00pm at the Village Hall of Potter by Chairman Mertz.  He verified that meeting notices were posted on March 1, 2011.

 Motion by Jannette, second by Eickert to approve the February meeting minutes as printed; motion carried.  Motion by Eickert, second by Jannette to accept the Treasurer’s report of Checking account balance of $-24,864.87, Money Market account balance of $251,838.64 and Tax Collection account balance of $0.00; motion carried.

 David Dhein was present.

 Motion by Eickert, second by Jannette to set the Open Book for April 14, 2011, from 6:00-8:00pm at the Potter Village Hall and the Board of Review for May 10, 2011, from 6:00-8:00pm at the Potter Village Hall; motion carried.

 The contact with the Potter Fire Department was reviewed.  Motion by Jannette, second by Eickert to make no changes to the contract; motion carried.

 Motion by Jannette, second by Eickert to authorize Mark Wunrow, Road Maintenance Supervisor, to post weight limits on Town roads as he sees fit; motion carried.

 Motion by Eickert, second by Jannette to keep the liquor license fees for Class B Malt Beverages at $50.00 plus publication costs, and Operator Licenses fees at $5.00 per year, renewed for two (2) years; motion carried.

 Motion by Eickert, second by Jannette to appoint one (1) Chief Inspector and two (2) Election Inspectors per shift for the April 5, 2011, Spring Election; motion carried.

 Motion by Eickert, second by Jannette to purchase Michelin tires for the grader from Pat’s Tires for $10,010.00; motion carried.

 Motion by Jannette, second by Eickert to approve the Town’s insurances for 2011; motion carried.

 Various informational meetings attended by board members were reported on.  American Transmission held an open house to garner opinions on the siting of a new power line.  Other meetings covered the county board size, windmill siting and the PACE program.

 The rebuilding of the power lines on Irish Road is in progress and will be completed soon.

 The 2011 Annual Meeting agenda was reviewed.

 The proposed State budget was discussed.  The implications for the Town are unknown at this time.

 The next road maintenance meeting will be called as needed.

 Bills totaling $26,067.48 were presented.  Motion by Jannette, second by Eickert to approve the bills as presented; motion carried.  An itemized list follows.

 With no further business, motion by Eickert, second by Jannette to adjourn; motion carried.
