Chairman Mertz called the meeting of the Town of Rantoul to order at 7:00 pm at the Potter Village Hall. He verified that meeting notices were posted on August 18, 2011.

Members of the Potter Volunteer Fire Department were present.

The State has a new recycling grant program for 2012 in addition to the regular grant program. It is the Recycling Consolidation Grant program. East Shore Recycling Commission is partnering with the individual responsible units to provide educational materials which would qualify the Town to apply for the consolidation grant. Motion by Eickert, second by Jannette to grant Mary Schwartz, East Shore Recycling Commission representative from the Town, the authority to sign the cooperative agreement for the Consolidation Grant; motion carried.

The meeting with the Town’s attorney, Mertz and Schwartz was discussed. Ms. Reynolds reviewed the contract and equipment agreement and asked that more information be obtained from Potter Fire Department. A letter will be sent to Potter Volunteer Fire Department requesting the following information:

An audited financial statement
Certificate of Insurance
Vehicle maintenance logs
A budget showing how the requested compensation is determined.

A fire truck grant from FEMA was discussed. As the drivers are not trained to NFPA 1002 or equivalent and are not planning to have such training program in place, Potter Fire Department does not qualify for any FEMA grant.

With no further business, motion by Eickert, second by Jannette to adjourn; motion carried.
