The regular monthly meeting of the Town of Rantoul was called to order at 7:00pm at the Village Hall of Potter by Chairman Mertz. He verified that meeting notices were posted on March 30, 2011.
Motion by Jannette, second by Eickert to approve the March meeting minutes as printed; motion carried. Motion by Eickert, second by Jannette to accept the Treasurer’s report of Checking account balance of $988.15, Money Market account balance of $230,164.48 and Tax Collection account balance of $0.00; motion carried.

A letter was received from CelluSite, LLC, in regards to the construction of a tower, antennas, and associated equipment at the base at N6496 Monument Road, Brillion, asking to confirm that AT&T Wireless is not required to acquire a zoning approval other than a Building Permit to install said antennas and associated ground equipment at the Monument Road address. As the Town, at this time, has no zoning and no building permit is required, no action was taken.
Brush near the railroad crossings was discussed. According to state statutes, the railroad and the Town are required to clear brush and trees in their respective right-of-ways for 330’ from the crossings. These areas in the Town will be inspected and the law complied with.
Trees overhanging the roads and right-of-ways in the Town will be inspected and trimmed, if needed.
The Town Chairman appointed the following individuals to the Plan Commission for a term of one (1) year: Wesley Hedrich, Chairman; Marion Kasper; Dennis Hintz; Craig Scharbarth; Eugene Mertz; David Jannette; Gregg Eickert. This term shall run from April 15, 2011 to April 14, 2012.
The 2011 Annual Meeting agenda was reviewed. Schwartz asked that the recycling program be added to the agenda. The 2011 Annual Meeting is April 12, 2011 at 7:30pm at the Potter Village Hall.
The 2012 Annual Meeting date was discussed. The second Tuesday of April, 2012, is the 10th. This is the day designated across the State as the Annual Meeting date for Towns. This date may be changed at the Annual Meeting.
The next road maintenance meeting will be Monday, April 11, 2011, at 10:30am. The agenda will include estimates for a tractor/mower and the annual inspection of roads.
Bills totaling $19,872.79 were presented. Motion by Jannette, second by Eickert to approve the bills as presented; motion carried. An itemized list follows.
